A pregnant 19-year-old woman has shot dead her 22-year-old boyfriend as they attempted to shoot what they both agreed as “the most dangerous video yet.”
The motive of the entire daring-do was to go viral on the social media and thereby achieve a much sought-after popularity.
The lives of Monalisa Perez and her boyfriend, Pedro Ruiz III, read like an impossible script written for an unrealistic Hollywood movie.
Having been a couple for five years, it means that Pedro and Monalisa had been together since Monalisa was 14, and he was 17: both underage lovers.
They have a three-year-old daughter who witnessed her mother shoot her dad at close range, MailOnline says.
Authorities say Monalisa risks 10-year jail term or $20,000 fine or both if convicted of second-degree manslaughter currently staring her in the face.
The entire bizarre project started on June 26, when Monalisa tweeted: “Me and Pedro are probably going to shoot one of the most dangerous videos ever HIS idea not MINE”

However, the entire stunt went awry as the encyclopaedia which Pedro thought would stop the bullet was ripped apart and the bullet penetrated him, while their three-year-old daughter witnessed the horror live.
The Minnesota, United States couple had planned for Monalisa to fire the large-calibre handgun at a hardcover encyclopaedia being held by Pedro outside their home around 6:30pm.
Monalisa told police that she had fired the fatal shot while she stood just a foot away from her boyfriend.
She claimed the plan was Pedro’s own, and that he had showed her another book that had successfully stopped the bullet.
However, the bullet penetrated the volume and killed him. Pedro’s death was captured on two cameras that had been set up to record the stunt.
Monalisa then called 911. The emergency team attempted chest compressions on Pedro, but were unable to save the young man.
Monalisa is currently being held without bail.
