Man bags life imprisonment for raping ‘girlfriend’

An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti on Monday sentenced a 35-year-old man, Tope Odeyemi, to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of rape.

Justice Adekanye Ogunmoye convicted him after finding him guilty of sexually assaulting a 27-year-old woman and inflicting grievous bodily harm on her which led to her admission in a hospital.

Police Inspector Arrested With 75 bags Of Cannabis

The Kogi State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has arrested a serving police inspector with a police truck loaded with 75 bags of substances suspected to be cannabis.

“Game of Thrones” actor Neil Fingleton, who was named Britain’s tallest man, has died of suspected heart failure at 36, according to the London-based Tall Persons Club.

The 39-year-old became a mum to three dolls named Amy, Ashley and Chloe last year to fill the void of not being able to have children of her own .

In another dramatic raid, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Oyo/Osun Command, has seized 9,000 bags of imported rice in a warehouse in a market in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

An Idi Ogungun Customary Court in Agodi, Ibadan, on Monday ordered a DNA test to be conducted to determine the biological father of a three-year-old boy.

The President of the court, Chief Mukaila Balogun, gave the order when the mother of the child, Monsurat Adeleke, and her estranged lover, Bayo Ogunsola, could not convince the court on the boy’s paternity.

The Presidency on Monday faulted the ongoing comparison between President Muhammadu Buhari and Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

Since Osinbajo became Acting President on the 19th of last month and the subsequent improvement of the naira against the dollar, and the new peace in the Niger Delta region among other achievements, many reports have claimed that Osinbajo was doing better as Acting President than Buhari.
