Western demoracy is 'alien' to Africa. Before the coming of the colonial masters, Africans were ruled by Kings, in their various Kingdoms, A king can only be replaced after his death. After each election in Africa:"The winner takes it all. The loser's standing small". That is the reason for the "Do or Die" approach to politics in Africa. Mugabe sees himself as King who can only vacate his seat by death. Fela Anikulapo Kuti sang in his hit song. Teacher Don't Teach Me Nonesense: "Democracy,crazy demonstration, demonstration of craze". The lyrics of that Song was one of the GREATEST LECTURE OF ALL TIMES. Every society MUST learn from it's culture, not borrow what is 'alien' to it, otherwise there will be confusion. Sometimes you can't go back to old, but Nigeria does not NEED a two Chamber House-Representative and Senate. According to the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Nigeria spends about 25 percent of it's income paying politicians and their many appointees. How can a country like that move forward? Combined with the MASSIVE rate of corruption that took place over the past years?. For a start, the House of Senate should be scrapped, just like they did in Senegal recently.
