Lagos State Command has rescued one Saheed Kolawole, owner of Scot Hotel, who was reportedly kidnapped at Ikorodu, Lagos on January 31, 2015.
Vanguard gathered that the kidnappers, who initially demanded for $200,000 as ransom later settled for $100,000 after negotiating with the victim’s family.
The kidnappers, whose operational vehicle was a Toyota Corolla with registration number APP626BE directed that the money be brought to Igbolomu area of Ikorodu.
It was learned that two of the suspects identified as John Paul and Garba Adamu were arrested while attempting to escape after collecting the ransom from the victim’s sister.
The victim was then rescued with the aid of the arrested kidnappers and the ransom money successfully recovered.
Confirming the reports Police Public Relations officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, said investigation was on-going, and efforts to arrest the fleeing members was in progress
