  3. Do white people listen to all this our artists at all? All i see in their so called concert pics are the nigerian community in the diaspora and fellow africans. I hardly see any whites gyrating to our artists musics. This is a shame cause if robin thicke or lady gaga or david guetta were to come to nigeria the place will be jam packed with nigerians. We in nigeria know all bout the kardashians and the brad pitts and angelina jolies. We worship them. We all bore witness to kim in lagos. But this folks no send us at all. Do the white teen in boston or ontario know genevieve or ramsey noah or MI? Fela, femi, nneka and asa, remain our best musical exports. All other naija musicians are for local consumption. Truth be told. I no hate. I just dey talk my church mind.

    1. And u kip hating on d so called local artistes, even if they are not recognized by the whites..and so? Are they not advanced than us... Its ur type that doesn't know wat it takes to achieve greater heights that will sit back to criticize the effort of others.. Psquare and others hv tried to bring nigerian entertainment to a level, yet wat hv u u done, aren't u suppose to b thinking of making our entertainment industry better and highly recognised internationally than to sit back to criticise, sometimes we jst need to think twice before we talk

    2. Truth is bitter. Im not trying to run down our own just merely saying it as it is. I have seen clips of recordings of fela and there were white people dancing and swaying to fela's afro beat. I have seen clips of sunny ade get a standing ovation for his juju music. Asa has played before an audience of mixed races both whites and blacks of france or even yankie and they loved her. Femi is popular all over the world not for being fela's son but for his own brand of afrobeat. Nneka type of music has wide appeal. Even lagbaja in his days capitivated so many outta naija. Pls lets leave sentiments outta this. Whenever our artist go on their tours abroad they only play to the nigerians living there. Very few locals of those oversea communities rarely pay them attention. I no lie!! But the caseis different in nigeria from hollywood to sitcoms to music. We are so in the know of happenings over there. What i stated in my first write up was that our celebs, film and music are for local consumption. Though we have come a long way in terms of our music and film as in we have really improved. But we dont pull international crowd. And what are u saying bout them being more advanced? Yes they are but when it comes to music, its a level playing ground. Because its all bout talent and not whether your country is advanced or not e'g fela, asa, femi, sunny ade, salif keita, akon, knaan, awilo, amadou bagayoko and mariam doumbia they are a blind grammy nominated couple from mali, soweto gospel choir, oumou sy, angela kidjo, radio and weasel, freshly ground, youssou ndour, tinariwen, hugh masekela, koffi olomide, magic system, les nubians, baba maal, yvone chaka chaka, tsotsi south african movie that won oscar, fally ipipa, brick and lace, mariam mekeba, danny k, lucky dube, ladysmith black mambazo. All these artist i mentioned captured more than are truly international artists even though they come from africa and jamaica less advanced places. Even your riri's bardados is exactly not so advanced. What are sayoing is that its all bout talent. Same is football and the same in music. Why should nigerian artists be different from other african artists? Many of the white folks that even listened to them fela, femi, awilo, baba maal them them dont even understand the words but nonetheless come out en mass to sway to the rhythm music. No need to get emotional lets be truthful these present crop of artists cant pull an international crowd. Nuf said!!
