‘My husband was assassinated, I want justice’-Wife of Doctor who died in hospital fire

As the Oguntuase family in Akure, Ondo State, continues to mourn the gruesome death of foremost Pediatrician, Dr. David Oguntuase, his wife, Ifeyinwa, has cried out to security agencies to help find his killers.

Dr. Oguntuase who would have been 54 in January, died in his private clinic on Christmas Eve in a mysterious fire incident suspected by his family to be the handiwork of assassins.

Ifeyinwa, a social worker also at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, told our correspondent that she received his last phone call at about 6.42pm on that Wednesday, instructing her on the need to shop for some basic provisions before dark because of the holiday season.

Stunned shoppers were showered with sewage and poop when an overfilled septic tanker blew up in Hectic China.

It was so much that they had to seek medical attention after having their faces covered in foul-smelling brown sludge . The owner of this shop was even less fortunate as his entire shop and contents were covered.

Eyewitness Dong Tang told local television: 

'I noticed some people gathered in the street and thought there had been a car accident.'I wasn't really paying attention, but then the smell hit me. It was disgusting.

Lagos DPO slumps, dies in office

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Ijede Police Station, Nwaoha Uzoma, has died.

Our correspondent learnt that Uzoma’s corpse was found in his office on Thursday, a day after he entered and locked himself in.It was gathered that after he did not pick his calls, anxious relatives and policemen in the station broke the door open and saw his lifeless body on the floor.

Punch Metro gathered that Uzoma, a Superintendent of Police, was formerly heading the Anthony Police Division, before he was posted to Ijede, in the Ikorodu area, early in December.The deceased, who was married with children, was in his fifties.

Unread email saves family of 10 from boarding vanished AirAsia plane

An Indonesian family reportedly missed boarding Flight QZ8501 after they failed to read an email from AirAsia advising them of a change in departure time.Ari Putro Cahyono and nine members of his family would have boarded the Singapore-bound flight on Sunday had it not been for the unread message.

Ari said he and his relatives had arrived at Surabaya's Juanda International Airport at 5:30am - 10 minutes after QZ8501 departed.The flight was originally scheduled to depart at 7:20am.

"I did not read the email notifying the change of the departure schedule," said Ari as quoted by kompas.com.

The operator had offered Ari the chance to board the next flight, but he refused after being informed at the airport that air traffic control had lost contact with QZ8501 at around 6.30am.

"My family and I then decided to cancel the trip,"

Missing AirAsia plane 'likely at the bottom of the sea' as experts say it was flying too slow

After calling off the search and rescue last night, due to bad weather conditions, it's been revealed that ,missing AirAsia flight QZ8501 was flying 'about 160 km/h too slow' when it encountered bad weather conditions.It is also said to be likely at the bottom of the ocean.

The Airbus A320, went missing at 6.17am local time on Sunday morning while travelling from Indonesia to Singapore with 162 people on board

Today, the head of Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency, Henry Bambang Sulistyo, said that the plane is most likely 'at the bottom of the sea'.

'Based on the coordinates given to us and evaluation that the estimated crash position is in the sea, the hypothesis is the plane is at the bottom of the sea,That's the preliminary suspicion and it can develop based on the evaluation of the result of our search.'
