The Cameroonian police cracked down on protesting students of the University of Buea, (South-West),Cameroon.
The students are protesting among many other things the termination of the payment of CFAF 10 000,as penalties for failure to meet the deadline for payment of tuition fees .
They also demand that the functions of French-speaking teachers, who teach only in French, be terminated.
Police forces were deployed on campus and its environs to curb the demonstration but they have obviously taken it too far, breaking into off campus student residents and brutalizing students .
