Shocking photos of 'filthy' streets in Ikom,Crossriver state

A blog reader sent these shocking photos of some streets turned to waste dumps in Ikom,Crossriver state..Aren't there Councillors in these areas?
IKOM ON THE VERGE'. With negligence on d part of environmental workers,Ikom local government an emerging city in Cross River State is on d verge of an epidemic that could sweep the entire town if something urgent is not done.I plead that the state government should ensure the once clean town/streets is restored to its old state,(devoid of refuse) residents are crying, women, children, youth are suffering from internal disease because of the offensive odour and smell that comes out from those refuse. All authorities concerned Ikom Urban Development Authority (IUDA)Commissioner For Environment should act fast............. . 11. let me say this clear, i am not from there but affiliated to them. I was there three weeks ago and I saw another part of the state very dirty. I asked my sister why is things like that and she told me that the governor has refused to pay the cleaners. I have on several occasions seen when these cleaners go inside the drainages to sweep and clean everywhere but Imoke refused to pay them even go check the Watt market which is not even far from where my sister is, its the same thing. The governor should be blamed. There is no good development in that as claimed cos most of the companies have parked out of the state due to high tax rate. U hardly find Mr Biggs and other fast foods there and when u see, things are expensive. Duke tried in reforming the state, but Imoke is just an error. I don't want to sound spiritually here, but u pple don't know what is happening in that state at all. Do u know that the calabar carnival is not just a mere carnival? story for another day. Go abck and check closely about the past winners and see for yourselves though u might find it difficult to get the truth cos its risky.
