In a bid to contain the dreaded Ebola virus, the Lagos State Government led by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, visited Pastor TB.Joshua's Synagogue to advice them against opening their doors to people from West African countries with the disease .
Idris said,
In his words
Idris said,
“We have our strategies that we intend to share with you. Again, we need to know the resources you have here because whether it is one or two cases, if they are allowed to get out, it is a major problem. We are here to work together on how to contain this disease.”Another member of the delegation and Director, Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Professor Abdulsalami Nasidi said
We are here to engage you positively, we know the powers of this House and your powers and we are duty- bound to protect you and your congregation. We have no doubt the power God has given you, we cant do that, but we want to help and make it work strongerReacting to their visit, Prophet Joshua, promised to work with government by suspending most of his major church healing programs and also said , he would visit those countries than allow their residents come to Nigeria
In his words
“I am ready to work with you. I love my country and I will be ready to work with you. Even if it is a rumour, there is need to secure our environment to ensure that it is safe.”
Hi Emeh, this is besides this post but just thought to air a bit of what I feel about your blog.
ReplyDeleteYou do a great job of putting up very catchy and timely news. Just until recently, I had no idea just how many people visit your blog. A lot of people do!
Even some of the so-called popular bloggers who have heavy traffic on their blogs lift some posts from here!
Now, I was talking with a group of people and almost everyone had the same opinion on your blog.
The comments on this blog are the reason why it hasn't grown past this level.
Someone even described it as " a kiddies playground"
While I completely agree that people are entitled to their opinions about different posts, allow me to say clearly too that there is a thin line between constructive criticism and hateful comments!
You put up a post and all you see are hate comments! The same cycle plays out on every post. It's either it's about Yorubas or Igbos or just other silly comments. Some of which even have absolutely nothing to do with the post. Some, even directed at other blog visitors.
There's hardly ever a motivational or inspirational, intellectually beneficial comment here.
And it just goes on and on.
You find that the serious minded people who visit just merely flip through the headlines and leave and if you ask me,this cycle rubbishes all your hardwork and generally stagnates the blog.
I could easily have sent this as a mail but NO, I chose to send it as a comment just so the people posting these comments realise that while they think they're having fun with hateful, negative and tribalistic comments, it's at your expense.
And may I inform you that some of these people who comment here had made several attempts at other blogs but we're never given the time of the day.
Hence they've hijacked your blog... COS YOU LET THEM
In the end, it's up to you really. You may choose to start moderating comments, that way people know that crappy comments will no longer be entertained and I hope that goes a long way to reposition your blog and take you to greater heights.
God bless your hustle!!!
PS; you are all free to claw at this comment. Ever seen a toy gun shot at a bullet proof car???
So true!
DeleteYou make sense but she should be careful with moderating comments. Comments make this blog interesting apart from the great content and who is behind it. The insults are between a few people and the so called intelligent people don't comment so those who are out for fun do. A few serious hate comments could be checked but going too far and deleting comments because they throw a jab at someone doesn't make sense. Linda Ikeji moderates but still has hate comments. It goes with the territory of blogging
DeleteVery intelligent advice @ Attitude & a hilarious PS!
DeleteGod bless you for this but as usual she won't even barth am eyelid to this comment , I am of the opinion that she doesn't take her blog serious many have said the sam thing you are telling her now but to no avail , sometimes I feel as though she is the one behind those comments as well just to try and push d fun. Forget about it and read d headlines move on no need to comment she doesn't need them she's got her bandwagon of clowns and she's aii with them.
DeleteAttitude or whatever, you are a hater. You have her mail yet decided to come her and paste your epistle. Insulting her readers is low. The fact that they comment here insult or not means they love the blog. This is not CNN. Besides I have never read a comment from you. People said all this to Linda yet it hasn't affected her blog and so shall it be with Emeh. Some people take life too seriously. This is not supposed to be boring. This is a blog, a forum for people with diverse ideas to air their views. If you don't like it, read the headlines as usual. Anon 9:47, it is so clear you are jealous of Emeh to the bone. Your comment makes no sense and you are a fool for calling people who comment clowns. Ekewensu
DeleteYoruba people are angry I tell the truth. Luckily none of you called my name. Would have served it to you hot.
DeleteYou pple should stop preaching to this girl biko, its her blog let her do whatever the F she wants with it. Does she even appear to you as a serious human being???
DeleteAnon 16:31 you mad or nah? You hate Emeh so bad you wish you were her. Your last line gave you up. Clap for yourself lol
DeleteEmeh all I want to say is, keep doing whatever it is you are doing. A few people shouldn't make you feel bad. I knew this blog when you had no comments, no followers and weren't even in the top 500 visited sites in Nigeria. Now you are 85 on Alexa and probably the third blog using a blog spot on top 500. Huge if you ask me. That shows mor e people are visiting despite people saying contrary. The first anon made good points but I'm not happy the person did it here. Linda, Stella have worst hateful comments.Your hateful comments are between readers arguing among themselves which I see nothing wrong in. Cheers
DeleteLagos State Government is doing so well. Kudos
ReplyDeleteNice one lagos state govt
ReplyDeleteStupid blog, child's play. Indeed whn I want to see confrontation I log in. Even Emeh herslf, her opinions r unprofessional smtym's.
ReplyDeleteIt's stupid yet you log in? Now who is stupid? Go to the blogs which are not and leave this one for us. We like it like that. The first anon, passed across his/her point constructively. You just added to the problem they talking about. Hater
DeleteStupid blog, child's play. Indeed whn I want to see confrontation I log in. Even Emeh herslf, her opinions r unprofessional smtym's.
