In a country where govt. officials steal billions (Bode George) and are let off lightly yet people that steal phones are beaten and burnt to death and you have the audacity to open your dirty mouth to say good for them! Even if they stole (which is not proven) they do not deserve to die like that. Human life is precious and nobody or group of persons have the right to take life because a laptop or phone was stolen

ReplyDeleteThese village people, like many Nigerians these days, are barbarians. The worst part, is that they don't know it. Tosan, there is no one who beieves that what happened to you (being stabbed by robbers), or the stabbing of your pregnant friend is right. But mob justice is not the answer. The reason that rational thinking people around the world have opted for fair trials, as the answer, is because they want to make sure that enough evidence is adduced to ensure the right people are punished (humanely) for stabbing you, or your friend, or stealing these laptops--not the wrong people, or "anyone way see hear do am. You have to imagine scenarios when the mob makes a mistake, because they are common too! Especially in Nigeria. Imagine the real theives of these laptops and phones emerging later. What if these peope were setup? How do you expect that persons loved ones to feel, now they have been killed? And with no evidence, apart from the jubgle squad saying so. Put yourself in the shoes of their families, then you will see why people, including myself share in the disgust of your comment about these people "deserving it".
If they did commit the offence, that is what prisons are for! A fixed term for which the person can be mentally (and otherwise) be punished for what they did. Reflect on is, and have the chance to come out a better person. If you think jungle justice killing is better, then remember there are places in the North of the country, where many Southerners would commit "wrongs/sins/crimes" you wouldn't deem to be so in the South. (Ie, dresscode, alcohol use, others). But they would be as angry with one for doing this, as you are with the man that stabbed your hand. Should they go ahead and kill?

The man was watching TV when a friend called him to inform him of the development, the man ended up paying 4.5million naira for peace to reign. You can imagine what would have happen to him if he hadn't paid that money or if he had been denied a chance to even pay for the crime he did not commit. PRAY YOU DON'T GET ACCUSED FOR A CRIME YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT,its a bad experience. In most cases in this country, u r not given the chance to explain. @tosanbami ogbe, u were lucky. Pray u dont have a worse experience. If u see d videos of the 4 victims dying process u will know urs i just a mosquito bite and to have shot them is better than the stages of torment n brutality. I would have been killed from a mob action few months back. Na God save me, u would have seen my own fotos like these guys, when d mob heard d truth, they started apologizing, F* them. I'm really sorry I said " good for them" and that was because of the 1st story I.e they stole phone and laptop and I felt they burnt them on the spot just as they do in warri,didn't know they stripped,hit them with sticks,throw blocks and all,that is killed them slowly,I saw the video but couldn't watch it to the end,but with all sincerity I use to pity thieves but not anymore,after what I went through, my wedding finger aint straight yet,I can't control it myself,I still have fear all over me,wen its evening and I'm walking home from skool,wen I see a guy walking behind me,jokes apart I run away,bcos that incidence is still fresh in my memory,I find it really difficult to go out wen its past 7pm,I have still not gotten over it and its 10months already. I can't vouch for these boys or anyone but common sense tells me that they didn't steal or rob because till this moment,no photo evidence of what they stole.Despite the hordes of heartless people filming and taking pictures none deemed it fit to take the picture of the stuff they stole so Nigerians can see?
