Governor Fashola has frowned at the continuous collection of 2 year rent by some Landlords in Lagos .He said any Landlord caught contravening the 1 year rent law will face the music. Presenting a keynote address at the 2014 Real Estate Unite recently,he said
"We see it as a wrong when a society pretends that all is well when people are asked to put forward two years rent in advance when they are getting monthly wages in arrears; something is wrong. And if we are also comfortable with it there is something wrong with us,”

DeleteDont mind this man jor.Election don come.He wan start his politricks.Is it about the rent or the crooked agents who are dubious?Agents are the cause of high cost of house rent in lagos and not the 2 year rent landlord place on rent alone.Infact they are worst than landlords.What is the commission,lawyers fee and other dubious charges they demand from tenants before they let out an apartment.Brf should not dodge his own extortion by traffic offenders who are charge to court or fine 50k.If i continue to mention brf extortion for lagos ehn,this page go full.Hisses.

In advanced countries, rents are paid monthly so if Fashola want to be reasonable, he should be talking of monthly rent and not yearly. All for elections. I am sure he collect biannually for his own property but who go talk?

You guys should learn to fight and support a good course whether for election or no election, a good course is a course. I can't believe those of you commenting all for election.
