A man who pretended to kiss a crocodile in Indonesia has had the joke backfire on him in a severe way, as the crocodile whipped around and bit him on the face.

The man is seen holding the crocodile down in water, with one hand around its tail and another around its neck as it thrashes around.

He then picks the animal up and holds it out to the side next to him.

He leans in closer and pretends to give the crocodile a kiss.
The crocodile suddenly jerks around and bites him on the face.

A group of men standing around him rush forward and try to prise the crocodile off, which has clamped its jaws firmly around his nose and close to his eyes.
