Following the unfortunate killing of their mother thanks to a trigger-happy policeman,the Nigerian Police Force on Monday offered scholarship to her four
children.
Mrs Idongesit Ekpo, the wife of a tricycle rider was shot dead by a trigger happy police officer Aremu Musesiu while he attempted to extort bribe from the tricycle rider, Godwin Ekpo at the Obalagbe bus stop in Isheri Osun in Lagos state lastyear.
The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Mr. Owoseni Fatai, who made the presentation on behalf of the Inspector General, Mr. Solomon Arase, said the officer has already been dismissed and would face prosecution.
According to Owose

“For now, it covers up to secondary school level and the Scholarship Trust Fund is expected to cover higher level education, subsequently,” said.

ReplyDeleteI hope the scholarship is to any school of their choice tho And hope its for life. It should be properly signed by the president to avoid stories that touch tomorrow. They should be ob monthly pay. it wont bring back the dead but when organizations start taking the fall for their poorly trained staff, they will get on their feet and things will improve
