Hello dear MPN family..How is your weekend going?Mine is fabulous so far ..
So,during the week a friend told me her colleague broke up with her boyfriend of 6 months because he has never flaunted her on social media, not on his blackberry profile,Whatsapp..
On Tuesday happened to be her birthday and she expected him to send a public shout out to her .But, he only showed up at her office with cake and flowers, took her for dinner later in the evening ..She kept hoping to see her pic on his instagram page but he instead posted a pic of him taken during their dinner .
She confronted him,and told him to either post her or she walks away. She expected him to post her pic but he instead stood up and walked away .
My friend says her colleague told her his reason for not flaunting her is,social media spoils relationships and attracts haters and more temptation. He says once their relationship is solid.i.e,marriage he can flaunt her without fear ..
In my own opinion, though I believe in keeping my relationship private until it is official,he should have just made her happy by doing it for the moment..*but I think a man should sometimes flaunt his woman just to assure her*lol
So I decided to throw this open on the floor..Is flaunting on social media a true sign of love ? Do you flaunt your boyfriend/girlfriend,husband/or wife ? If you don't why?

as for me,i hate flaunting,i even told my boyfriend to stop uploading my picture on whatsap,i dont like it and i will never upload his picture until i am married,i am even engaged but no body not even my siblings knows about it untill its legit,i wont even weat the engagement ring,i hate to embarass myself
ReplyDeleteHonestly, it has to be to an extent... I can only flaunt my relationship on bbm. Fb, ig, whatsapp and d others, count me out! I can flaunt him to the world only when we are married!
Delete@Christabel Tanx for sharing the engagement news cos I believe ur friends and family now know about it unless they don't visit this blog and that isn't ur first and last name.Congrats
DeleteNo shaking
Miss Ima, so true I can flaunt on bbm as well. whatsapp, psh that one i hardly ever change dp. on fb no. who cares about fb anymore? on ig i will only put myself in a group pic with the guy and call him friend in general. or i can post something cute he gave me. but no coupley picture singling him out as "THE GUY" u know. no MCM either.
DeleteHmmm, flaunting someone on social media does nt means true love,as for me I cannvr flaunt any man untill am married to him,bt dt does nt mean I shld nt use his pics on my dp on his birthday, maybe dt lady is his side chick, cos I dnt y he will nt wish her hbd on his dp on her day,my blive is dt there is no hw someone can be in love nd will nt be intoxicated sometimes, tell her nt to dull herself she is simply his side chick.
ReplyDeleteNO
ReplyDeleteflaunting isn't totally a true sign of love NO, I don't flaunt my girlfriend
WHY?
ask Toyin Aihmhaku!
It all depends on the individual any way,as for me I don't really like show up things,I love surprising people,@putting ones pics on facebook,Ig,what's app don't really mean that person truly loves u,all that matters is the mutual understanding between both parties..@as for me I prefer when d ring is already on my left hand I can proudly flaunt u to the world,No be say tomorrow nah after I flaunt u finish every body done know u finish u go come waka go away,tahhhhhh...
ReplyDeleteLove is sweet when you are with the right person. But I do not know why girls will start posting their "boyfriend" pics on social media when he has not even propose marriage to you. My candid advice, do not flaunt your relationship on social media simple.. IT IS WELL
ReplyDeleteWell, flaunting d person on social media is nt tru love,i don't even like it,but d guy would hav just made her happy for dat moment aand post it,even if he doesn't write Anytin romantic,he can just write happy bthday dear and people wil just see it as a normal tin,but for d guy to walk away
ReplyDeleteIt means he is nt sure abt d relationship, and for d girl,we hav to also knw how she approached him,bc d guy cannot just walk away like dat simply bc she said dat, sometin might hav happened during d conversation,as for d girl, babe if ur guy did nt put ur pix on it fb,bbm or intergram,he has his reasons joor, but am nt supporting him sha

I believe flaunting a relationship on social media is a sign of insecurity. If ur relationship is solid why would u want to publicize it and invite unnecessary attention to it. Now most people want to tell sidechicks and other boos that this boo is theirs forgetting that "my boo is our boo"
ReplyDelete@Babe2mama
flaunting is allowed when your re both secure about each patner, but if der is any aiota of doubt, play safe n never flaunt...he's trying to be too careful.he's not telling her something #social media can and should never come in between two people dah gat each odaz back n re entirely committed so that jealousy would continue to eat up haters who cant be happy for a couple growing strong...its just dat too much of evrytn is bad. everytn should be done moderately.

ReplyDeleteThere is a big difference between keeping a secret relationship and keeping a private one. If u love him or her u'd want pple to know. Flaunting ur man/woman doesn't mean u r telling pple wat goes on in d relationship
ReplyDeleteMy weekend is splendid though busy.
ReplyDeleteFlaunting partner on social media is not a true sign of love. Partners who spend quality time together sharing and discussing get to know much about each other. It's a place to update status, not diary.
This said not necessarily bad if partner post not flaunt picture of his or her spouse to mark special occasion.
She pushed the matter too far confronting her boyfriend to either post or walk away. Not all men will condone unnecessary demands and threat. However, he ought to have done that to commemorate her birthday.
Neva wld I flaunt my r/ship even marriage on socila media. Av passed tru a lot in life,na to dey do tins codedly now. Not even my children sef.some pple even ur family members who don't know about how I live will now b seeing my life on fcebk, neva eva. Am secretive all d way
ReplyDeleteU guyz neva knew aw my babe was all ova me for flaunting her on MPN. I'm sure it makes dem happy and assures them the 100% love they needed.
ReplyDeleteTo me the guy is hiding sometin one pics of her won't hurt jor.
ReplyDeleteI agree. it doesn't have to be everyday but at least once in a while. if the guy is NEVER posted her pic on bbm at least, he must have another babe he is trying not to offend. my ex used to post my pics all the time then all of a sudden no more pics. i had to pressure him into posting my pic and when he would post them, there would be no caption to indicate this is my babe. not long after that, we broke up. if a guy is truly crazy about you, u would know because guys cannot hide love that easily.
Deleteand it's not like guys have to hide you for fear of jealous ashawo friends that can snatch you like women. it's harder for a woman to be snatched than for a man. so i see nothing wrong in a man flaunting his woman. as for a woman, she needs to be more discrete to avoid the wrath of jealous friends and to avoid embarassment when the relationship is disrupted
Don't flaunt me & I won't flaunt u either. Flaunting or not, the heart knows where it truly belongs.. keep it simple. We'll flaunt wen we get married. So pple won't be helping me count how many pple I've dated incase yawa gas... That's more honourable. #shikena!
ReplyDelete@portable, uve bin rolling with the wrong ones, dahz y...
ReplyDeleteI can't flaunt jor.. Except u are my hubby!!
ReplyDeleteYou can flaunt once in a while. But the guy should hv granted her wish just for that day. Smtin is fishy.
DeleteUseless guy.If a guy doesn't use my pic on his Fb wall and IG profile I will personally dump him.My pic should be on ur Bbm and Whatsapp Dp every 3days.He should also have a a Poster of my pic hanging at his gate, front door and bedroom wall.My pic should also be printed all over his car as he drives it around. These are my criteria to avoid being dumped. She should forget that foolish goat
ReplyDeleteNo shaking
That's a big job naa, hw many wil I post!?????
ReplyDeleteAbi flaunt?
DeleteHmmm
ReplyDeleteHmmm
