PDP mismanaged Nigeria for 16 years – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) mismanaged Nigeria throughout the 16 years it ruled the country.

According to the Nation, a  statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said the President spoke during a meeting with the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, APC elders in the state, and national officers of the party before the commencement of the party governorship campaign rally in Akure, the state capital.

President Buhari assured that his government would correct mistakes of past administrations.

The statement said,
“Buhari assured Nigerians that determined, steadfast and patriotic people in the APC-led government will transform the nation’s ailing economy, which was run aground by the party that governed Nigeria for 16 years from 1999 to 2015.

  4. My President, honest people know this is the TRUTH.
Kahil Gibran probably had a country like Nigeria in mind when he wrote this famous poem "Pity The Nation".

    Pity The Nation

"Pity the nation that is full of beliefs and empty of religion.
Pity the nation that wears a cloth it does not weave
and eats a bread it does not harvest.

Pity the nation that acclaims the bully as hero,
and that deems the glittering conqueror bountiful.

Pity a nation that despises a passion in its dream,
    yet submits in its awakening.

Pity the nation that raises not its voice
save when it walks in a funeral,
boasts not except among its ruins,
and will rebel not save when its neck is laid
between the sword and the block.

Pity the nation whose statesman is a fox,
    whose philosopher is a juggler,
and whose art is the art of patching and mimicking

Pity the nation that welcomes its new ruler with trumpeting,
    and farewells him with hooting,
only to welcome another with trumpeting again.

Pity the nation whose sages are dumb with years
and whose strongmen are yet in the cradle.

Pity the nation divided into fragments,
each fragment deeming itself a nation."

    1. Inspired by Kahlil Gibran, I wrote this my beloved country Nigeria.

      Pity The Nation

Pity the nation that strives on corruption, favouritism and nepotism.

Pity the nation that rewards and celebrate mediocrity.

Pity the nation where tribalism is deeply entrenched.

Pity the nation where justice is bought.

Pity the nation where the hallowed chambers of 'Government Houses' and 'Rock' are brothels, dotted by pimps and ne'er-do-well.

Pity the nation where life is ''solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short''

    5. "When It's All Been Said And Done" by Don Moen

When it's all been said and done
There is just one thing that matters
Did I do my best to live for truth?
Did I live my life for you?

When it's all been said and done
All my treasures will mean nothing
Only what I've done for love's reward
Will stand the test of time

Lord, your mercy is so great
That you look beyond our weakness
And find purest gold in miry clay
      Turning sinners into saints.
      Hallelujah

And I will always sing your praise
Here on earth and ever after
For you've shown me heavens, my true home
When it's all been said and done
You're my life when life is gone...
