Female staff of Sweet Sensation jailed for 266 years for stealing employer’s N8million(Photo)

Oluremi Olayinka, a female staff of popular eatery, Sweet Sensation, was on Wednesday convicted and sentenced to 266 years imprisonment by Justice A.A Akinyemi of Ogun State High Court, Abeokuta, for stealing N8million belonging to her employer.

Vanguard reports ,she was sentenced to seven years on each of 30 counts and 14 years on the remaining four charges. The sentences are to run concurrently.Additionally, Justice Akinyemi ordered her to return the money she stole in restitution to her victim.

Ms. Olayinka was arraigned before Justice Akinyemi on May 13, 2014 following a petition, alleging that she stole the sum of N8,000,000 (Eight Million Naira), which she received on behalf of her employer.When the convict was confronted with the allegation, she admitted the crime only for her to dramatically pleaded not guilty upon arraignment.

In the course of trial, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission presented four witnesses and tendered 16 exhibits to prove its case against the convict.

    Whaaaaaaatttttttttttt??? 266 yrs, just bcus of 8m, how much is 8m to someone's life.... I wish am a lawyer now, I love taking up cases like this!!! Its too inhuman, how much more God whom we sin to!.... And yet, the same judge and that employer will say... "Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us of our trespasses, ***AS WE FORGIVE THOSE , WHo TRESSPASS AGAINST US"""

    I say it today, that employer and that Judge, will never see God's forgiveness, unless, they do proper justice,....

    Billions were found in the house of petroleum, mininster, nothing is done, so they gather all the sentence, they are supposed to give those politicians and put it on this woman, just bcus of 8m, make una dey remember say, there is God ooo.

    Nigerian justice system needs to be redesigned.The sort of ridiculous judgment they pass on stupid things amaze me.Ordinary 8m and she will serve life Imprisonment.Meaning the corrupt politicians would be sentenced to death by either firing squad,Poison or hanging
