My Hands My Future is a skill acquisition and youth empowerment initiative of the (YEF) Youth Empowerment Foundation, sponsored by the TY Danjuma Foundation.
On the 17th of December 2014 at Pyakasa Abuja, the foundation celebrated the graduation of the beneficiaries of its skill acquisition and capacity development program.
The program targeted out of school youths and unemployed women in Pyakasa Abuja.
Over 40 out of school youth and women were recruited. These benefited directly from vocational training and apprenticeship placement in income generating activities such as Tailoring and fashion designs, Hair dressing, Barbing, Cookery and Baking.
The beneficiaries were also were also equipped with life skills, business development and financial management skills which they can use to protect themselves from the increasing economic hardships, social and health related hazards of life.
Several testimonies from various beneficiaries pointed to the fact that YEF isn’t just paying lip service to youth empowerment and capacity building.
