'Why Did all Others Survive? Family of First US Ebola Victim say he received unfair treatment

The family of Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan are venting their outrage that the late Liberian may not have received the same quality of care leading up to his death  as the other patients treated in the U.S. for the dreaded virus.
Reverend Jesse Jackson who had been by the family's side told CNN
He got sick and went to the hospital and was turned away, and that's the turning point here,'
According to Mailonline, when Duncan first went to Texas Presbyterian on September 25, he was sent home with a prescription for antibiotics and was never tested for Ebola, despite telling nurses that he had come from Ebola-stricken Liberia.
His enraged cousin told ABC ...
“No one has died of Ebola in the U.S. before. This is the first time,”We need all the help we can get.”
Unlike Ebola victims Dr Rick Sacra and NBC cameraman Ashoka Mukpo, Duncan did not receive a transfusion of blood from American Ebola survivor Dr Kent Brantly after he was finally diagnosed.
Weeks says doctors told the family 'that the blood wasn’t a match.'

And unlike Brantly and his fellow missionary Nancy Writebol, Duncan did not receive the 'miracle' experimental drug ZMapp, which officials say has completely run out in the United States.

Instead, doctors began giving Duncan the experimental antiviral drug brincidovir. The newly approved drug - which was developed not for Ebola but for smallpox and herpes virus came too late.
All five have been flown to specially-designed infectious disease wards in Nebraska or Atlanta for treatment by some of the world's top doctors.

  7. I don't know why we blacks always play the victim all the time. Did you hear that the last journalist quarantined himself when he felt unusual? And made arrangements to go back to his country immidiately? We all know how our people even no matter how rich finds it difficult to run a routine check in their health? Have we considered his immune system and how it played a roll in his system? In 2007 when I went on vacation to dallas with my family I was sick and an ambulance had to be called in. I have taken to the same hospital and the team their treated me as if I was the most important patient in the hospital despite how dark my skin is. Let's just not conclude it is racism
I can assure you the government will get to the bottom of it. They have set up a committee that will commence sitting on Monday . They are just looking for compensation but unfortunately for them, Texas law has little to what they can offer them and am sure if they continue with the law suit, they will get a little money but will be made to pay the bill to the last penny. While he was in the hospital , he was costing the tax payers one thousand dollars per hour.

    3. No Emeka my brother am not white infact an not just a naija woman, am super dark in complexion . I live here in Dallas and know that no hospital and its staff for any reason allows racism to get in their way of treating someone and to avoid lawsuit and loosing their license. The person who did not pass the information of him coming from Africa is facing disciplinary panel tomorrow and I can assure you that he/she will be panalized. Maybe if he had told the truth that he had contact with someone that had Ebola, they would have used another medical approach in treating him.

  13. I think Americans were just tryna tell other Ebola victims not to come for help. Cuz if they had treated this guy trust me other victims wld run to get help there and that wld be risky enough for them.
