Angry mob hack cobbler to death in Calabar

On Monday in Calabar ,an angry mob lynched and burnt a cobbler, Musa Ibrahim to death for stabbing a boy. Just as the Cross River State Police command is working to unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of Musa Ibrahim and skirmishes which took place as a result.

Vanguard learned that the incident which occurred at N0 36 Abang Asang Street in Akim Qua town, Calabar Municipality Council Area of the state started when the deceased (Musa Ibrahim) stabbed a an unidentified young man with a dagger after a disagreement on the terms of payment for work done and this led to a fight.

Teen girl admits she made up migrant rape claim which outraged Germany

A 13-year-old German girl who claimed she had been kidnapped and raped by migrants made up the entire story, police have said.

The girl, only known as Lisa F, told police she had been taken from a suburb in east Berlin and held captive for 30 hours by 'foreign-looking' men who raped her,the Guardian reports..
The parents of the teenager, , reported her missing on 11 January after she failed to appear at school in the Marzahn district of the capital. She reappeared 30 hours later with injuries on her face, and told her parents she had been attacked by men of Middle Eastern or north African appearance.

Three men were sentenced to death on Saturday by an Indian court for the gang-rape and murder of a student, in a case that sparked outrage over women's safety.

The court in Kolkata sentenced Saiful Ali, Ansar Ali and Amin Ali to the death penalty and a further three defendants, Sheikh Emanul Islam, Aminur Islam and Bhola Naskar, were given life sentences after being convicted of gang rape, criminal conspiracy and causing disappearance of evidence.

Pastor accused of diverting church funds commits suicide

A 49-year-old pastor, identified only as Bassey, has reportedly slashed his throat after he was accused by his church members of diverting funds for personal use.

It was learnt that the incident happened last Monday around 5am on Abari Street in the Mulero, Dopemu area of Lagos.

PUNCH Metro gathered that. his wife, called Iya Emmanuel, and son, Emmanuel, were arrested in connection with the incident.

It was learnt that the pastor had written a short note, stating that his family was not complicit in his death.

Residents have expressed surprise that Nancy Keme Dickson, the abducted younger sister to Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson, has spent over 42 days with her assailants.

The 26-year-old, who is said to be the last child of the Dicksons, was abducted on December 19, last year, by gunmen.She was seized at her shop on Okaka Road in Yenagoa, the state capital.

Nancy was abducted after the December 5, 2015 governorship election and a few weeks to the January 9 supplementary poll, which Dickson won and became the re-elected governor.

A 26-year-old man, Caleb Nzube, who attempted to blackmail the wife of late Chief MKO Abiola of $5,000, was last week arrested in Anambra State. Nzube allegedly hacked the Twitter handle of Mrs Tinu Abiola, downloaded her picture and designed a web page showing the woman carrying a human skull.He then threatened to expose the web page to the world if the woman does not pay $5,000.

Traumatised Mrs Abiola, it was learned, petitioned the Inspector General, Solomon Arase, who directed a combined team of the Inspector General Monitoring Team and the Intelligence Response Team to track down the suspect.

Metuh’s torn statement linked Jonathan to N400m –EFCC

Following the charge of destruction of evidence filed against him, details have emerged about what the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, allegedly wrote in the torn statement while in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on January 5.

The court papers obtained by Punch on Sunday indicate that five operatives of the commission witnessed the incident which was said to have happened on January 5, 2016, the day the PDP spokesperson was arrested.

The entry number 049 in the incident duty log which was recorded at 4.30pm by an EFCC detective, Junaid Sa’id, on January 5, 2016, reads,

Doctors say they have successfully separated eight- day-old conjoined twin girls-believed to be the youngest ever babies to be parted,Daily record reports..
Medics in Bern, Switzerland carried out the operation risky operation on girls Lydia and Maya over five hours with a 13-strong team.
The surgery reportedly carried just a one percent chance of success.
According to Swiss media, the twins were "extensively conjoined on the liver, but had all vital organs".Local media reports that the twins are putting on weight and beginning to breast-feed, following the operation on December 10.

Talk about love! Rob Kardashian drove 1,400 miles from Los Angeles to Texas to collect girlfriend Blac Chyna when she was thrown off her flight, it has now been revealed.

A Snapchat posted by Chyna as she left the state on Saturday showed her posing beside Rob's Bentley, complete with Beverly Hills plates. The journey would have taken at least 20 hours. It is not known if Rob had any help behind the wheel.
