First of all, I'm affected by this fuel situation just as everyone else and even though I've been lucky to get fuel, I can't but help to be scared of a rise in cost of living as a result and short down of basic necessities and hardship caused but who really is to blame? Everyone is quick to curse Jonathan but is it really his fault? The government paid marketers over 500billion naira few weeks back but situation got worse. This marketers are only scared of importing fuel reason is if they import at normal rate and sell at 87, who pays the difference? Is the incoming government ready to pay? Why does nnpc have fuel? Cos they import directly. Is the government then to force marketers to import? Buhari hasn't said anything whether or not he'd pay for the subsidy but who really wants to risk his money in Nigeria (especially as buhari hasn't said a word)? That's why they are all waiting for transition to know where they stand. You really wanna curse someone? Curse the marketers (total, conoil , oando, Forte etc) for not trusting the government, curse Nigerians for not believing mere words. Looking for who to blame? Blame the outgoing, incoming government and marketers for not sitting on a round table to come to a decision. Don't forget, Goodluck tried to remove subsidy years back, we all lashed him out (me included), twas to avoid this kind of things, isn't buhari bout to do same? Goodluck might b somewhere laughing cos he foresaw this. Remove subsidy today, u'd see excess fuel tomorrow but u think Goodluck wants to be ridiculed again? Importation of fuel ddnt start in his time neither did refinery spoil in his hands. Hope I've successfully enlightened someone.
