US based pastor condemns popular church for inviting Korede Bello to perform "Godwin"

US-based, Pastor Olusola Fabunmi has condemned the invitation of Mavin artiste, Korede Bello to sing his popular hit "Godwin"in a church.
On Easter Sunday, Korede Bello performed the hit at the Harvesters International Christian Centre ,in Lekki as a special guest

Korede Bello is a young man I love personally, and have nothing against him. But it’s written here, that when we chose the way of the world, we have clearly chosen our paths; becoming an enemy of God.
Please, there must be a clearly defined boundaries of who sings, and /or ministers in churches.
Some of the questions that come to mind are; is he born again? Sanctified with the spirit of God and baptized in the Holy Spirit?

Also, let’s ask ourselves, what’s even the purpose of people singing in churches and Christian concerts? Where purpose is lacking, abuse is inevitable writes Francis Wale Oke in his book; The Power of the Holy Spirit.

So I believe very strongly that one major purpose of choristers or Psalmists singing is to prepare the minds and hearts of the people for the word of God that is to come shortly; since we see in parable of the sower that the hearts of men is like a soil, and when the seed (which is the word of God) is sown, one of the factors that will determine the level of harvest yielded is the condition of the soil (hearts).”
I wish to submit by saying that the only difference that makes the difference between church gatherings/ programs and others like clubs, parties is the Presence of Almighty God. If he is not there, we might spend hours and do all manners of spiritual gymnastics, it’s sheer of wasting of time, energy and resources.
And the ministers who know their onions do all it takes to secure his presence. But I think today in the word of a very senior man of God, one of the
older generation, Dr. Ayodele who said in Houston recently, that churches in this generation has been reduced to ABC… Meaning; Attendance, Building and Cash.

      I understand what the pastor is pointing at. My view is thatThe alter is sacred and should only be stood upon by the chosen. Korede won't impact believers in a godly way as much as d lyrics ain't bad. But who am I to judge wen choristers n some ministers are wolves in sheep's clothing

      As in .....Brown Sugar then what is the pastor doing, if He is not condemning him...Listen to the lyrics of Godwin is their anything weird about the lyrics when R Kelly sang you save me was he not a worldly musician. I don't get it how some christian read the bible upside down and give a different interpretation...     To be honest, it all depends on the angular difference.

    1. As Christians, we must be very careful who will bring onto the altar to minister.

    2. How many of the gospel singers are really Christians? They are not true gospel singer, but mere singers of gospel songs. So unfortunately, they are allowed to minister on the altar.

    3. Have we not at every Sunday service display our dancing skills bringing on the altar the skelewu, shoki, azonto dance? Is that altar not meant to be sacred?

      SVC you are right we see them everyday and that's between them and God. But does that mean that they bring the Night Club to the house of God? No!
      If you love Korede so much an want to listen to his songs there is nothing wrong in doing that it's as simple as you going to the club or play the song in your house the same way you go to church and listen to the word of God.

      There are many people out there who sing christian songs but still do worldly things..eg chase women,do clubbing,womanize,drink but still go on the altar of GOD on sundays to sing, son now those people are d most righteous people abi????     I know HICC. Been there several times. They never compromise their gospel message. I see this performance as a way to get the attention of people who would NEVER go near any church; not those that are already born again. So far, their plan is working brilliantly. All of us are here talking about them, & I'm sure that cos of all this, their congregations, website visits, etc will be on the rise for a while, so more people will hear their uncompromised Christian message. Selah.
