A 35-year-old farmer, Franklyn Ndife, has emerged the governorship candidate of the Independent Democrat in the November 18 poll in Anambra State.
243 delegates who took part in the primary election that was conducted at its secretariat in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Thursday elected Ndife.
The Chairman of ID in Cross River State, who doubled as the party’s primary election chairman, Sunday Michael, declared Ndife the candidate of the party for the November election.
In his acceptance speech, Ndife made it known he decided to contest so as to evoke some change in the governance of the state.
He added, “The old people have failed us. We can no longer continue with such retrogressive system.
“The youth must take over the leadership of this state and make life better and meaningful.”
