Turkish man nearly hangs himself in protest with noose around his neck goes wrong

A Turkish protester almost hanged himself while giving a speech with a noose around his neck.

In footage of the incident, the bespectacled man is seen reading aloud from a piece of cardboard he is holding. The rope around his neck is tied to a tree in a town square when he suddenly lost his balance.

Concerned onlookers rush to help him, with one man grabbing him around his waist and attempting to haul him back up onto the stool.

The Turkish man hangs limply as he is freed before coughing heavily as the noose is slipped off his neck and he sits down to recover.

He can be seen bent over before a third clip shows him upright, assuring the man smoking he is alright.
