Ooni of Ife's buial rites reportedly stalled as Abobaku flees

Several reports claim the burial rites of Oba Sijuwade,the Ooni of Ife has reportedly been stalled after the Abobaku fled the town.The Abobaku is “The one who dies with the king”.He is usually appointed upon a king’s coronation, and has to be buried with the king when he eventually dies.His job is to serve the king even in the world beyond.

The early announcement of the Ooni's death is said to have alerted the Abobaku of the King's death ,possibly enabling his to escape.

      Why abobaku they run? According to yoruba tradition abobaku lives like the king and gives orders like the king, d only person that can overrule his command is d king himself so when the king dies you gotta die with him too.

    why flee?lolzzz...abobaku always enjoy the same way the king enjoys na..travel with them And even enjoy loads of privileges..am sure he knows thats one day he will be buried with him lmaooo ....even if he is on d run ..those kingmakers will call him back home with jazzz ..
