A 25-year-old man, Kayode Akanni, of Pedepo Village in Ayetoro has been arrested for defiling a three -year- old girl.Punch reports that, the suspect was said to have tricked the victim into his room, before he defiled her, damaging her private parts.
The command spokesman, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, said it was the injuries inflicted on the girl that exposed Akanni.This, he said, made her parents to report the matter to the police and the suspect was promptly arrested.The suspect, he added, had confessed to the crime.He said,
“During police interrogation, it was discovered that the suspect tricked the young and innocent baby into his room by telling her to bring to him a bunch of keys outside the room.It was after that he had unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl.The suspect has confessed to the crime, while the victim has been taken to hospital for treatment.”
