'I Am Fashion' is an exhibition centred around issues of Art education, self-identity, self-respect and love for Nigerian Art and Artist today, using Art forms through a fashion platform as a vehicle to address the issues associated with art awareness. Central to the exhibition are two images of Chanel’s iconic little black dresses as a tribute to the title of the exhibition taken from Coco Chanel's famous saying, ‘I DO NOT DO FASHION, I AM FASHION’
The exhibition will span over 2,000 square feet and include exceptional photography, Master-piece designs and paintings from 15 designers, photographers and painters, with some pieces to be sold at a silent auction during the exhibition. Proceeds from the silent auction will be used to support arts education in rural communities within the FCT, through our collaboration with the registered non-profit organisation Nigeria Reads, which has been responsible for building and creating libraries and art clubs within rural Abuja.
