StayInSchoolng ‘Gifts-A-Child’ this Yuletide Season

It is the season of giving and the Stayinschoolng has concluded plans to extend the joy of the season to orphans and vulnerable children through its ‘Gift-A-Child’ campaign.

‘Gift-A-Child’ aims at celebrating the future of our nation and showing them the true meaning of Christmas. Over two days, a party will be held across two communities where children will be brought together and each child would receive a Christmas hamper containing several gift items, especially education related gifts collected over the past weeks from well-meaning Nigerians and companies.

The parties are slated for Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Ijora -Badia community and Sunday December 15th at Idoluwo-Ile Village, both in Lagos. There will also be fun games, facial graffiti, lots to eat and drink as well as competitions where prizes can be won to bring a little bit of the joy of Christmas into the lives of the kids.

‘Gift-A-Child’ is another avenue to bring the children together and show them love beyond the classroom and we call on well-meaning individuals to follow suit by contributing gift items to the kids, many of whom have never enjoyed a proper Christmas. “This will go a long way to molding them in this present into what they will be tomorrow and at StayInSchoolng, tomorrow matters to us a lot,”
StayinSchoolng is a nongovernmental organization, borne out of the need to address the evident issues in the Nigerian education sector and a long-term development plan with major focus on providing educational support for orphans and vulnerable children in underdeveloped communities in Nigeria, ensuring that they stay in school.

The initiative identifies and sponsors less privileged pupils and primary school dropouts by providing their fees, feeding and educational accessories including school uniforms, bags, books, shoes and a host of others while monitoring and accessing them to ensure they stay in school. The SIS initiative since inception in January 2013 has reached out and is currently sponsoring 200 pupils, in Abuja and Lagos, and is already scouting for another batch for the next academic session.

#GiftAChild is supported by Baniaz Juice and Andiva Candies.
