Blogger's Diary- A dangerous illusion

Remember the song"Mrs Jones" by the Dramatics,"Me and Mrs Jones, we gat a thing, going on". I can’t get that song out of my head. Not only does it push across the allure of forbidden love and affairs, it reminds me of the sad reality that faithful and commited relationships are on  the verge of extinction.

I seriously doubt if there's someone here who hasn't fallen for someone who belongs to  another. I recall some months ago, there was this young man living opposite my office.
He had a fiancée whom had been with him through it all. Well, suddenly, he fell for a friend of mine who paid me a visit once. I tried all I could to make them see why they were infatuated with each other, but I must confess their chemistry was out of this world. He would pick her up, take her places, they would walk hand in hand, talk for hours, and do things which he hadn't done with his fiancée in a long time.

He promised to breakup with his fiancée and marry her. I laughed at her gullibility. I knew, there was a 1 in 100 chance, he would do that. Then two months later, His fiancée found out about the affair, she was heartbroken and if there was anyone he had to let go off, it was my friend."He couldn't bring himself to hurt his fiancée" she had been with him, through it all. But he could hurt my friend; she was just a temporary diversion.
The thing about forbidden love is the thrill of it. It’s so exciting and gets your adrenaline pumping. This makes you believe you’re in love. You live in a fantasy whereby you can’t wait to see each other. You spend time talking about fantasies and lose touch with the reality.

There’s nothing more exciting than doing something in the dark and hoping you never get caught. I've had my fair share of forbidden love situations, but thankfully, I was able to walk away unscathed because I never gave in to that temptation. 1walked away,so should you.
