Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has said that the biting economic situation in the country may have been responsible for the non payment of the allowances of Super Falcons’ players and officials.
The Falcons who were victorious in the just concluded Africa Women Cup of Nations by beating Cameroon to win the trophy on Saturday have not been paid. To this end, they refused to vacate their hotel in Abuja on Tuesday,Vanguard reports.
It was reported however, that the players were offered N50,000 each which they rejected, demanding for all their outstanding allowances. An inquiry into the matter by the State House Correspondents at the end of the meeting of the Federal Executive Council, FEC on Wednesday revealed the Ministry of Youth and Sport was handling the matter.

ReplyDeleteHas Mr Lai Mohammed himself not been paid? or can he categorically tell Nigerians his been working for free for the last few months, same question goes for the executives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, do they choose to work for months without pay? if not, why treat the people who make Nigeria proud in such manner? yet ensure they enrich their non-functioning position regardless of economic situation.
ReplyDeleteExactly my thoughts. Are they also owing the President and senators??? Rubbish talk from a well known Liar!
