Fayose tells Buhari-Arrest Boko Haram, not Dasuki

(UPDATE) Col Dasuki has been released and the ban on his homes lifted..
Following the house arrest and sealing-off of the residences of Sambo Dasuki, a retired colonel and former national security adviser, Governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose says dictatorship is returning to Nigeria. In a statement issued on Friday , he asked the president to put Boko Haram, and not Dasuki, under house arrest.
“Democracy is already being put on trial, less than two months that President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office… Rather than invading homes of Nigerians and putting people under house arrest, the government should invade Boko Haram territories and arrest the insurgents,”
“President Buhari should rather keep Boko Haram under house arrest, not opposition party members. Those heavily armed security men that invaded Col. Dasuki’s Abuja and Sokoto homes should have been put to a better use by sending them to the Boko Haram ravaged North Eastern part of Nigeria,”
“The president should keep the rising exchange rates of Dollar, Pound Sterling, Euro and other foreign currencies under house arrest. He should pay attention to governance, be guided by the rule of law and be for everyone and for nobody as he promised when he was sworn into office.”
“Was there any invitation by the DSS to Col. Dasuki that he refused to honour? Isn’t it worrisome that in this democratic age, security agents could in a commando-like invade the house of a former NSA to carry out his arrest when there is no record that he was invited and he refused to honour the invitation, or that he resisted arrest?
“Could Col. Dasuki’s present ordeal be as a result of his advice that the presidential election be postponed? Is this not an indication of an impending clampdown on PDP members and other Nigerians perceived not to be on the same page with the President Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government? “We in the PDP supported our party during the presidential election like every other loyal party members should do, should this display of support for our party and its candidate now warrant persecution by the federal government? “If Col. Dasuki actually committed any offence to warrant his arrest and questioning by the DSS or any of the country’s security agencies, shouldn’t warrant of arrest have been issued against him? Shouldn’t he have been invited by the DSS instead of invading his houses and sealing them off in a commando-liked manner?

“Nigerians must therefore rise against this emerging dictatorship and save the country’s democracy from imminent collapse because today, it is Col. Dasuki, tomorrow it can be any other person.”

  9. He said he was subjected to a 12-hour ordeal from 6pm on Thursday till 6am on Friday.
“The SSS operatives came in two trucks with a search warrant from a Magistrate Court.
The warrant gave them the power to search for ‘illegal weapons and any incriminating item.’ You can imagine what that is supposed to mean.
I left office on Tuesday and they got the warrant on Wednesday and executed it by 6pm on Thursday. From 6pm on Thursday, throughout the night till about 6am this morning (Friday), they were searching my house looking for incriminating itemsThe State Security operatives yesterday also seized his international passport and $40,000 cash found in his house. They retrieved three rifles which were being used by members of the protective team while in office. Ghenghen 3 raffles in your house.

  11. Mr fayose,
Whosoever told you to keep talking sense and nonsense in staying relevant does not have your interest at heart and only time will tell if you will not pull yourself down.
be slow to speak and quick to listen and slow to anger but yet ur arrogance will not make you hear the word of God.
if you take PMB to be GEJ then you are in for a lifetime shocker.
you watch if ur ceaseless noise or it destroys you.
Take note bcs you have so much to hide and afraid of in ur heart.

  12. He is right, u arrest d former NSA and yet u plan on giving Boko Haram "amnesty" sounds suspicious. As for Dasuki, u reap wot u sow. U betrayed Jonathan, did u think it wasn't coming back to bite u? All in all, Dis stinks of petty personal vendetta, a 30year old beef btwn him and Buhari. Rite now I feel d govt and I mean Buhari shld stop Chasing Shadows and settling petty scores way past d statue of limitations and face d matters at hand. People r being bombed everyday, our economy is unstable, d fuel issue is back, exchange rate is alarming.. he shld wake up biko.

  13. Sambo Dasuki must be very careful in his utterances. He must not allow intimation to push him to begin to make pronouncements that will question his integrity. He must maintain his decorum and self dignity
